Zoho Creator moved to Grid

After an extended weekend which went till Monday evening (IST), we finished moving Zoho Creator to grid set up. Now it is quite faster... Much more than that, it is now more scalable and reliable. Down time will be a thing of a past. We can now handle more users. We are still improving and fine tuning the speed part.

100$ Laptop and Online computing

I chanced upon to read a blog post on 100$ laptop that is going to be in the markets very soon.

I wrote about what this low-cost computer potentially means a bunch of times and won’t rehash that here. But it will have a big impact on the market and may be the thing that — if pervasively adopted — drives a shift from the desktop to web-based computing, storage, etc. This is where Google’s acquisition of Jotspot (+ docs & spreadsheets, etc.) and companies like Zoho would really benefit.

The thing about these machines is that they don’t have lots of hard drive space so they will have to leverage the Internet as a computing platform.

That is really where online computing is going to be a commodity. That will make even more people to access and organize their information online. That comes with an added benefit of not having to worry about the storage, virus and security. Google is racing to the market as is Zoho.

Memorable Christmas

This Christmas was a memorable one for me. We(our family) had been to the Orphanage home run by the Church of God in Rameswaram. We just went to meet Pastor Paulose on Christmas evening but then we were pleasantly surprised to be the guests for the Christmas function in the Orphanage home. Dad started off with a prayer.

Lawrence(my brother) conducted a game (well, it was a management game) for the children. All the children were seated in a matrix of 10 rows. Each row was given a name either Hallelujah or Hosannah. The rule of the game is that whenever Lawrence would pass by each row, all the members in that row should raise their hands and shoult their name(Hallelujah or Hosannah). If you try to do it when he is not, you are out. Also if you don't do it when when he is, you are out. It was real fun to watch Lawrence running around and the children shouting in unison Hallelujah and Hosannah. The best part was that there were no monitors and the children rose up automatically without being said that they are out. This reminded me of the passage Matthew 18:3 which says "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven". It's true that we need to be wise of what is good and be innocent to evil. (Romans 16:19)

Next I conducted a small game to keep the children who became out engaged. Then Mom taught them some action songs and now it was time for celebration. Israel(Pastor Paulose' son) brought some fireworks and crackers. All the children formed a big circle and after an instruction from Israel, children took guard to light the crakers. The childen enjoyed to the maximum. I have few snaps which I will post some time later. Then the children gave a bid adieu and then we were shown around the campus by Israel and we prayed for the campus.

It was truly a memorable experience.

Favourites

I wanted to write something about myself and memorable incidents in my life.

Favourite color - Green
Favourite Place - My College
Favourite Moment - The moment I got placed in AdventNet
Favourite Quote - All things work together for good

Google Usage

For obvious reasons I use Google extensively for all of my search. I use
two more features of google much. One directly and another indirectly.

1. For all my Calculations such as 4*5*6+5-3

2. For finding the spelling of a word, I google. In fact as I was typing this post I made sure that the word and extensively and obsessed aren't spelt as extensievely and obcessed

Google promptly tells me

Did you mean: extensively

Did you mean: obsessed

With the browsers opened always, calculations and spelling thru google looks very easy for me. Am I too much obsessed with google ?
